Q: What kinds of educational services does Mary Lee Bunch Associates provide?
A: We provide class credit recovery, individual tutoring, homeschool support and alternative education options, academic prep classes (ACT, SAT, LSAT, HiSET, GRE, and many more), exam proctoring for online college courses, summer enrichment classes, college application counseling, ADHD coaching and a host of other services. Our teachers cover all standard and AP subjects such as: English, Science, Math, Economics, History, Government, Art, Chemistry and Foreign Languages. We also offer classes in Theology, Music, Writing, Personal Finance and various life-skill related studies.
Q: What is Alternative Education/Homeschool Support?
A: In 1984, the Tennessee General Assembly passed a bill authorizing the establishment of an alternative school for students who have fallen behind in their schooling for such reasons as excessive absences, or in some cases disciplinary problems. Additionally, as the homeschooling community has grown in Middle TN, there has been a need for supplemental tutorial programs and co-ops to provide services that support these homeschooling families. Through this particular program that we offer, Mary Lee Bunch Associates seeks to help any student that thrives in a non-traditional learning environment, no matter their educational background.
Q: Is Mary Lee Bunch connected to a school system?
A: Yes. Mary Lee Bunch Associates operates in connection with Franklin Classical School, The Comenius School home schooling programs, and Home Life Academy. We also regularly receive referrals from Williamson County and Davidson County School Systems, as well as Father Ryan High School.
Q: Can you guarantee an improvement on my ACT/SAT scores?
A: While no one can ultimately guarantee a student's performance, we don't hesitate to point to the significant improvements we've seen with hundreds of students' scores on their standardized exams. So, while we can't promise a 36 or a 2400, what we DO guarantee is that we will provide the tools you'll need to improve your test scores; time management skills, strategies, practice tests and increased confidence from knowing you are prepared.
Q: My student failed his last semester of Math, can you help?
A: We most certainly can! Credit Recovery for incomplete classes is available within a flexible schedule. With individualized instruction, just 30 student hours will make up a semester class and 45 student hours will make up a year-long course.
Q: My homeschooler needs Foreign Language credits, can she enroll in just one class?
A: Absolutely! We offer dual enrollment to traditional school students and homeschoolers alike. We have many options and solutions. Whatever the situation may be, we are here to help.
Q: What ages or grade levels do you tutor?
A: Most of our students are in high school, but we are also equipped to help elementary and middle school students, as well as those attending college.
Q: What if I only need to take an exam?
A: We are able to proctor many standard exams here, in-house.
Q: Do you have reduced rates or "package prices?"
A: Unlike many franchised tutoring centers, we are not here to sell you a "package." Rather, we seek to work with you in order to create a personalized plan to help you achieve your specific academic goals. So, whether you're looking for a few hours of tutoring, or a place for your student to finish his or her senior year, we can help! Many of our students do find that they benefit from consistent, weekly or bi-weekly tutoring assistance. If you plan to join us frequently, feel free to discuss payment options with our office manager.
Q: What if I need to reschedule or cancel a class?
A: We completely understand that cancelations are occasionally unavoidable. However, teachers reserve your scheduled class times specifically for your student. Therefore, as a courtesy to our teachers, we do request that you provide at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your reserved tutoring time. If less than 24 hours, please call your tutor directly, and be aware that sometimes charges may occur. No call or no show appointments will be billed for the full amount.
